OIM history
- 1974 Non-profit organisation founded in South Africa by Prof. Robert Tusenius to bring about change in South
Africa by focusing on political leaders, economic leaders and students (future leaders).
- 1974 Ad hoc involvement of Prof. Tusenius in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, USA, USSR, Japan and
various African countries until 1990.
- 1982 Consulting firm established – with a focus on conflict resolution and management / union relationships.
Understanding-Based Leadership as unique mediation and improvement method developed.
- 1992 Additional focus on organisational development – Employee involvement and communication (INVOCOM®)
concept gets more depth. Stronger focus on leadership development.
- 1997 Begin to develop an integrated approach to performance improvement.
- 1998 OIM International is founded, first offices in The Netherlands, Ghana and Nigeria. More international
assignments follow.
- 1998 OIM client offering and solutions expand significantly until 2006. Move to process consulting and training.
Further enhance Integrated Performance Approach.
- 2006 Add manufacturing and operations consultancy capability.
